World Traveler. International Civil Servant. Third Culture Kid.

THE BASICS

FACT, My name is Cinnamon.

I’m a Third Culture Kid (TCK) who has lived in 7 different cities in 5 different countries.

Born in Belize, raised throughout Central America, educated in the US and UK.

Coffee, carbs and champagne are my love languages.

Count memories not countries, nobody cares about how many stamps you have in your passport.

Hello!  Hola! Salut!
A Belizean mother and an Uruguayan father brought me into this world, starting my journey off in the most beautiful corner of Central America. From my native Belize, the journey continued to Costa Rica, Panama, Rhode Island, Boston, DC, the United Kingdom and back to DC again. My unique upbringing as a third culture kid has shown me that long after departure, you carry pieces of the places you've been, and those experiences can change the way you see the world.

BELIZE CITY

This is where it all began, born and raised, Belize is “home”. As someone whose residence has always been tied to a page in her passport, Belize will always feel like the one place that I can go back to and the place where I belong.

Despite the fact that I have lived more years away from Belize than in the country, I rep hard for the 501 every day. You can call me an unofficial Ambassador for the best little corner of Central America.

SAN JOSE

At eight years old, I boarded a plane with my mother and we made our first move to San Jose, the place where I adopted the pura vida lifestyle.

I cried the entire plane ride, we had left everything and everyone I knew behind. Soon after, I would learn that this is the price we pay for loving and knowing people in more than one place.

PANAMA CITY

It was my junior year in high school and I got the news it was time to pack our bags again. I’ll never forget the terror of the first day of school in a new country.

Panama is the chapter in my life that brought me my first love, unforgettable beach nights, and life long friends.

BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Known for its sports teams, signature accents and something about a tea party, this beautiful and historic city was home for four years. A proud husky and alum of Northeastern University my heart will always have a special place for this New England town.

BRIGHTON

I fulfilled a huge personal goal and received a Chevening Scholarship to complete my Masters at any university in the UK. I ended up at this bohemian, anything goes vibe, beach side town at University of Sussex.

WASHINGTON, D.C.

This chapter I call "adulting". Before I started my political affairs life in DC I was working with one of the top event planners in the city. It is where I discovered the who's who and what's what of this city I now call home. So if you need a DC tip, trust me I got it.
