DC goes all out for cherry blossom season which normally brings in millions of dollars of revenue to the city. Dozens of hotels, restaurants, bars, and cafes offer cherry blossom specials. Here are some you can enjoy this year:
The 4th Annual Cherry Blossom-inspired art installation. Inspired by the annual cherry blossom season and utilizing the power of creative technology, Renewal 2121 seeks to inspire hope amid a global pandemic and concerns of climate change.
Go on a Blossom Hunt in search of 26 giant sculptures, painted by 25 local artists installed in various locations across Washington, DC, and surrounding Maryland and Virginia neighborhoods.
This is a great option for families or visitors from out of town as you can explore different neighborhoods while searching for these dynamic sculptures. Click here for a map of the sculpture locations.
BLOOMAROO AT THE WHARF
The Wharf is going all out for cherry blossom season and the perfect place to enjoy the warmer weather. Look up Union Stage at the Wharf to find this spot. It is right around the corner from Kirwan's.
On the Transit Pier enjoy outdoor movies with your family. Celebrating the globally popular Japanese genre of anime, every Friday-Sunday from March 26 to April 11 (no screenings on Easter Sunday). Tickets are $40 and include seating for up to four people in your group. Drinks and snacks are available at the Cantina Bambina concession window, or you are allowed to bring in food from other Wharf vendors (food only). Check the Wharf website for the movie schedule and to purchase tickets.
2. Artechouse Extended Reality Experience
Artechouse has brought a piece of their 4th Annual Cherry Blossom-inspired installation to The Wharf. Download the Artechouse app on your phone to see their mural bloom through a virtual reality experience. The mural is located at the 7th Street entrance to the Wharf, adjacent to Praline Bakery.
3. Insta Moment
Snap a picture under the lanterns at Pearl Street. A beautiful pink lantern installation just went up.
4. Coffee and a Donut
Grab a cafe con leche at Colada Shop and a specialty Cherry Blossom Donut at District Donut and enjoy the sunshine by the water.
5. Rooftop and Rosé
Grab a glass of rosé at one of my favorite rooftop terraces on the Wharf. The Terrazza at Officina is a beautiful space overlooking the Potomac offering great drinks in a swanky environment.
Cherry Blossomed "Think Pink" wine flight of rose wines. Love having a little "winery" experience right here in the city. Located next to the river this is a great spot on a sunny warm day.
EAT
There are tons of cherry-flavored treats in the city, such as:
Astro Doughnuts
Ice Cream Jubilee
Baked and Wired
District Doughnut
Cafe Georgetown

RESIDENTS CAFE AND BAR
Currently one of the most instagrammable cherry blossoms-themed spots in town (RIP to the iconic pop-up bar we used to have) This lovely restaurant has transformed its patio into a little cherry blossom oasis. The food and cocktails will not disappoint.
